Lille’s sporting director Luis Campos is reportedly close to replacing Leonardo at AC Milan this summer.
Reports in Italy have claimed that Rossoneri bosses and Campos reached an agreement in recent days but a formal announcement will be put on hold until after the side’s final Serie A game against SPAL on Sunday.
Leonardo’s position has been called into question after another season of Milan failing to challenge for the Serie A title, while a place in the top-four Champions League qualification spot is also out of their hands ahead of the final game.
Meanwhile, Campos has been praised for his work in the transfer market at Lille, which has resulted in them finish second behind French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain this season.
