Cameroon football legend Patrick Mboma has lost his uncle to the dreaded coronavirus.
Mboma disclosed the death of his uncle via his Twitter handle on Monday.

“Awful news! A call from my mother this morning to tell me that I just lost my uncle Achille Essome Moukouri at 05:00. Thank you coronavirus.
“To all those who think in Cameroon that these things are just stories, I beg you, stay confined. It’s the only thing to do!”
Mboma helped Cameroon win the 2000 and 2002 Africa Cup of Nations.
He was a member of the Cameroonian football team that won at the Sydney Olympic games.
Also, featured for Cameroon at two FIFA Club World Cups in 1998 and 2002 and was crowned CAF Player of the Year in 2000.
Meanwhile the outbreak of the coronavirus has seen to the cancellation or postponement of major sporting events.
Juventus trio Daniele Rugani, Blaise Matuidi and Paulo Dybala all tested positive for coronavirus.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also contracted the disease.
