TP Mazembe head coach Lamia Boumedhi has hailed his team’s fighting spirit in the hard-fought victory over Edo Queens.
The Congolese trailed 1-0 going into the final minutes of their semi-final contest at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
They however equalised in the 90th minute before scoring twice in extra-time.
“I am very happy and satisfied with this final result,” Boumedhi told reporters.

The gaffer said his side showed remarkable resilience to beat their opponent.
” I take this opportunity to congratulate my players who played a great match. They poured their hearts out and played with grit.
“Our secret for this match was mental strength. Before this match, I told my players to stay focused until the referee’s final whistle even if we conceded a goal.
“We knew we were facing a good team and we would have to stay focused until the end of the match.”
TP Mazembe will face hosts AS FAR of Morocco in the final of the competition.
