Rivers United are through to the quarter- finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Congolese club, Diable Noirs in Uyo on Sunday.
The visitors took the lead through an own goal on 14 minutes from Rivers United’s Ghanaian import, Emmanuel Ampiah.
The home team dominated the game afterwards but were unable to find the equaliser in the first half.

Former Kano Pillars forward, Nyima Nwagua slotted the ball home from close range in the 73rd minute for the equaliser.
Nwagua added the second four minutes later.
Diable Noirs earned a share of the spoils with Deo Gracias Basinga equalising for the away side nine minutes from time.
Rivers United top Group B with 10 points from five matches.

They should have held on to avoid losing top position. Asec and Diables can win and share 10 points now. CS this might be a bit dicey I think they’re not through yet.
Just a quick correction Rivers are really through because Diables have only 5points after 5 games on 3rd position and will only end with 8 points even with a win at their last game compared to Rivers of 10points at least. Congratulations this is a pleasant news. And why didn’t NFF list the league highest goal scorer who plays for Bendel Insurance as an home based selection for SE or U23. Craze dey worry NFF and Salisu o. What at all is their problems @TheNFF???
their problem is that the highest goal scorer has not signed an agreement for them to be his agent or he has not stump up the money to pay his way through
