Rivers United moved a step closer to securing a place in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 3-1 win against Democratic Republic of Congo’s Daring Club Motema Pembe in Uyo on Thursday.
Ghanaian import, Paul Acquah scored all three goals for the hosts in the highly entertaining encounter.
The Nigerian champions regained top in Group B following the win.
Acquah scored the curtain raiser in the 45th minute.
The midfileder was on target again on 55 minutes after he was set up by his compatriot, Emmanuel Ampiah.

Substitute Mydo Nakouho Yallet reduced the deficit for the visitors 12 minutes from time.
Acquah then completed his hat-trick deep into stoppage time.
He is now the top scorer in the competition this year with four goals.
Rivers United will host Diable Noirs of Congo in their game on Sunday, March 19 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
A win in the game will guarantee the Pride of Rivers a place in the last eight.

Rivers United did well.
After losing there first match, some morons said all manner of ugly stuff towards this team, now can they see. There mouths are shut
