The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has finally picked a date for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The competition will run from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
It is the first time the biennial competition will hold in December and also run through another year.
CAF took the decision at its virtual executive committee on Friday.

The competition was initially scheduled to hold in the summer of 2025.
It however clashes with the newly-designed FIFA Club World Cup that will attract 32 clubs from around the world.
The draw for AFCON 2025 which will be hosted by Morocco will hold in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 4.
The qualifiers will run from September to November 2024.
Cote d’Ivoire won the last edition of the AFCON.
