The Confederation of African (CAF) has picked Victor Osimhen among the top 10 players that will shine at the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
CAF described Osimhen as the “figurehead of Nigeria’s rich attacking frontline”.
The Napoli hitman was top scorer in the qualifiers with 10 goals.

You guys are not seeing the blessing in disguise here..if super eagles crashes out early in afcon, PESERO will be sacked and then a better coach will be recruited to take us to the world cup or just maybe the nff may decide to bring back GENERAL ROAR
That’s my only consolation… Lol

But if they go all the way to the final or even winning it(which is impossible), the nff may relax and allow this man to continue and then our problem continues
Don’t see them going all the way, not with their 4-2-4.
@ONWAJUNIOR that is the bitter truth my brother.
I think say by now u suppose don change a bit, but you getting worst each year, look at what you put up right there, so why would they fire him if he eventually win it? Can pep, klopp, ancelotti or whoever get better than winning the AFCON as winning it it the highest any coach could possibly go now.
@femi did you see the impossible in bracket there?
Monkey if you continue to think this way it can affect your personal life and fortune. Did you see what you just wrote above.
You terming it impossible for the SE to win it’s even more annoying, on paper know team can rival us, luton town or Sheffield United fans would have hope of winning man city or Liverpool if they meant which is why u see them fill the stadium despite the huge gap between them and you are here condemning a 3times AFCON winner parading AFCON player of the year like that? We’ll we Dey here and we go see how it goes.
On paper?! On paper?! Did I hear you say on paper?
Femi why don’t you tell yourself the truth and forget about this on paper bs..
CAF continues to allude to what international football fans have been saying. Victor Osimen has over the years belong to the ivory league of World top strikers and not just on the African continent. From national to Western World dominating other international goal punchers like Lawandoskii, Bezemma,MoSalah and their like, winning an enviable record of World no:8. He’s
been win, win, win and win. He goes with the gusto to lead others while the expectation is for FIFA to name him World no:1.
I was wondering if the title of this piece is correct till I saw CAF praising Osimen in it’s usual format. Osimen is everywhere on the social media, mostly the foreign tabloids. My prayer is God using Osimen and others to win afcon
@Monkey you mindset is backward and this may affect your life functionality. First you said it’s impossible for SE to win the cup , that’s awkward of you ,you could have said it is not likely they win it. The fact that SE is participating gives them mathematical chances of winning it . A country like Togo which is not participating is impossible for such country to win it but as long as a country is in the tournament such as the chance of winning it.
Secondly you postulated the reason why you don’t want SE to perform well because NFF will relax and this may hurt the team in the future .You talk about complacency on the part of NFF . Well don’t you think if SE crashes out of the group this will affect the mentality of the players which will in turn affect their world cup qualification.Besides winning the cup will fetch each player $35000 . Do you wish the players and their family well at all. Please be more positive about life. Winning the cup will give our players needed motivation to qualify for the world cup.
Mr forward mindset. Them no dey force preek(penis) to stand up…
You don’t have the coach to win you afcon.
You don’t have a balance midfield too
Should we talk about a goalie whic forms part of the defense???
Fine there is enough fire power up front but without those aforementioned, it’s better to crash early so we can sharply come and arrange ourselves instead of going there to womble and fumble…

Why can’t complete sports give us ordinary breaking news.
Lookman 4 goals, osimhen 2 goals, Musa and Sadiq one goal each .
CSN, removing my post?
Osimen I want to believe we do everything to ensure SE win the cup though he’s certainly a good contender among African top 10 equal.
Besides being the figurehead of the Nigerian rich attacking forward, the Nigerian best striker and continental best, has Mane, MoSalah and that Moroccan midfielder, very precise, to contend with and some among World 50 best. Osiiigoalos must be precise in front of goal to top other top forwards on the showpiece.
The good thing about Victor is that he is always excelling doing Nigerians proud. But Mane the Senegalese??? hmmmm!
Hahaha.! It should have been Mane, the cameroonian. At least, Cameroon near us pass. However, some of the comments above shows some pple are still angry because of tribalism which affected the tribal stolen election but the media isn’t amused.
For the African footballer of the year, nothing is stopping him.
Whether Nigeria wins AFCON or not won’t change or affect Victor Osimhen’s legacies as an African great player. But on a personal note, I hope he scores against top-guns in African football like Egypt, CIV, Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, Zambia, Algeria or Tunisia (depending on who we meet if we progress from the group). So far, 95% of his national team goals has being against ‘outsiders’ in African football.
