Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has commended his team’s next opponents Burnley, describing them as a remarkable team.
The Gunners will file out against Burnley on Saturday, November 11 at the Emirates Stadium.
Burnley earned promotion to the Premier League with seven games to spare in 2022/23 Championship season.
They had been relegated at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
In the pre-match conference Arteta praised the resilience of the Vincent Kompany led side despite the difficulty of the Premier League.
“Looking back on the games they have played and the results they’ve got, in some of them they merited much more than what they got,”arsenal.com quoted Arteta as saying.
“I don’t think it reflects actually what they deserved in games. But that is the difficulty of this league. Sometimes you deserve more but you don’t get it because the quality of the opposition is high. But the way they have transformed their way of playing, the club, and how they continue to play with the belief that they do, for me it’s remarkable.
“Some of the injuries we had were bad luck, some have been long term injuries with some special players, when we didn’t have a lot of depth. So we can talk about the depth, but sometimes you have to talk about specific positions.
“For certain units we are a little bit shorter, but it’s the challenge of the season. Other people have to step up and that is a good test for the team as well; how we take those moments, and how we respond to that, and so far the team is doing well.”
Arsenal have a good competitive record against Burnley as they have won 55 out of the 113 games between them, Burnley have won 34 of the games while there have been 24 draws.
They have acquired 24 points after playing 11 games in the 2023/24 Premier League.
The London based club have won the Premiership title on 13 occasions.
On the continental level they are first position in Group B of the ongoing UEFA Champions League with nine points obtained from four games in Europe’s elite club competition.
