The burial programme for Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets 1985 World Cup winning coach Sebastian Brodrick-Imasuen has been unveiled.
According to the burial programme made available to Completesports.com, a vigil mass will hold at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State, on Thursday, 22nd February 2024 at 4pm.
There will be lying in state at Ogbe Stadium, Benin City on Friday, 23rd 2024 at 9.30 am.
The church service for the deceased will take place at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Airport Road, Benin City at 10 am on Friday, 23rd.
After the church service, the internment will follow and will take place at GRA, in Benin City while reception is billed for Air Force Base, Airport Road, Benin City.
Born in 1938 in Benin City, Brodrick-Imasuen was on life support at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital for over a year.
He had been diagnosed with Ischemic stroke in December 2022 and had been receiving treatment before he passed away.
The late coach represented Nigeria at the Mexico Olympic Games in 1968 and famously scored from a free kick to win the then Challenge Cup for Bendel Insurance in 1972.
He was in charge of a talented Golden Eaglets side that won the 1985 FIFA U-16 World Cup in China.
