South Sydney Rabbitohs have received a major boost on the eve of a new NRL season as Tom Burgess has agreed a bumper new deal.
The news comes after his elder brother and England skipper Sam also agreed a new contract with the NRL side which will keep the pair there for a further four years at least.
The Rabbitohs, coached by England coach Wayne Bennett, will now turn their attention to Tom’s twin brother George, who has yet to agree a new deal although recently turned down a major offer from rivals the Paramatta Eels.
Tom, who was linked with a move to the Super League, said: “Souths is all I know and I’m really pumped to be signed up long-term now. “They gave me a chance when I came to Australia for the first time and six or seven years down the track I’m still enjoying my football here and I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else.”
