Mainz forward Taiwo Awoniyi has expressed disappointment following the side’s 1-0 home defeat to Hoffeinhem on Saturday, reports Completesports.com.
Togo forward Ihlas Bebou scored the winning goal for the visitors two minutes before the break.
Awoniyi hit the back of the net a minute after the hour mark, but the goal was disallowed as Oliver Baumann was fouled in the build-up.

Achim Beierlozer’s men are now without a win in their last five league games.
“This is a huge disappointment for all of us,” Awoniyi told reporters after the game.
” We should have decided the outcome of the game in the first half but we didn’t take our chances.”
The 22-year-old has scored one goal in 10 league appearances for Mainz this season.
