Kevin Akpoguma was in action for Hoffenheim who pipped Cologne 1-0 away and have their Champions League qualification a huge boost in Sunday’s Bundesliga fixture.
It was Akpoguma’s 19th appearance in the German topflight in the current campaign.
The Nigerian international featured from the start of the game before being substituted with 12 minutes left in the game.
Stefan Posch was the hero for Hoffenheim as his 61st minute strike was enough to seal the crucial win.
The win took Hoffenheim to fourth place on 43 points in the league table.
It is a fourth consecutive win for Hoffenheim since a 2-0 defeat at Mainz on February 5th.

Opkoguma my G , don’t worry, your time will come. Maybe you never give them bribe that’s why they can’t call you. You are more than good than some current defenders in national team

What a humorous response! Thanks for making me laugh so loud and hard DON PABLO!
I am suspecting that this guy might be one of those that told rohr he doesn’t want to play for us again after his sack,I remember that rohr said something about some players not wanting to play again.otherwise I don’t see why he wouldn’t make it to Afcon and not getting called up this rime.if it’s true, then we may have to think twice about pressuring players to switch nationality.thier commitment and patriotism is usually zero
And how many times did ROHR feauture him?????
Mtcheeeeeewwwww
Now where are those who said Kevin Akpoguma has not been playing regularly for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga? I have already said somewhere in this forum that Akpoguma should be called up immediately as a replacement for injured William Troost-Ekong for the game with Ghana. Even in-form Cyriel Dessers should be cap-tied in a competitive game for Nigeria. The free-scoring Feyernood striker is still eligible to play for Belgium. We should remember he only featured in a friendly game for Nigeria. The Ghana game would have been the ideal setting to secure Dessers and Glasgow Rangers left back,Calvin Bassey for the three-time African Champions. The more, they say,the merrier. That’s why I like the Brazilian Football Federation ,they will never miss this type of opportunity. What is wrong with us?
Nigeria football is unpredictable because of the politics by NFF. It’s been doing more harm than good
Unfortunately he remains one of the country’s most consistent performer who never gets a look in by the people in charge. So sad.
An AKPOGUMA who plays for a top 7 clubdide in a top 5 EUROPEAN LEAGUE and yet never gets considered meanwhile CYPRUS based defender is considered as well as DIVISION 2 players in SPAIN and England. Even a bench warmer in a DIVISION 2 clubside in SAUDI ARABIA gets a call up at the detriment of a regular in a top 5 EUROPEAN LEAGUE!
Najeriya we hail thee.
Sad that local coaches for whatever reasons will not fail to behave typical. Little wonder NFF either hands the rein to them or backwater coaches like GERNOT ROHR who they can also manipulate!
Good luck SE
Honestly it’s mind blogging why Akpoguma was not invited even as a replacement for injured Ekong
I completely agree with you!
This guy need to be given a chance to prove himself.
Is like coach Egu didn’t like light skin players.
This guy is far better than some of the current Eagle defenders right now.
Please CONSIDER HIM HE IS A NIGERIA.
