Swan is now just one victory away from securing a place in the French Open main draw after claiming a 6-4 0-6 7-5 victory over Wang. Her reward is a clash with Slovakia’s Kristina Kucova in the final round of qualifying in Paris.
Meanwhile, British number three Heather Watson has failed in her pursuit of a place in the main draw. Watson was on the verge of beating world number 193 Valentini Grammatikopoulou but ultimately lost 7-5 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-3).
