Brighton and Hove Albion made it back-to-back wins against Chelsea after a comfortable 3-0 win at the AMEX in Friday night’s Premier League match.
The Seagulls also defeated Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win last Saturday.
A brace from Yankuba Minteh and a world class strike from Kaoru Mitoma secured the win for Brighton.
It is the first time since September 2021 against Man City that Chelsea have failed to register a shot on target in a Premier League match.
The Blues suffered another injury setback to one of their forward player as Noni Madueke had to go off in the 21st minute.
Mitoma opened the scoring in the 27th minute as he expertly controlled a long pass from his goalkeeper, beat Trevor Chalobah and slotted into the net.
In the 38th minute, Minteh then made it 2-0 as he neatly beat Marc Cucurella inside the box before hitting a low left-foot shot.
On 63 minutes Minteh got his second after beating Cucurella once again inside the box and hit a hard low drive past the Blues keeper.
The victory took Brighton to eight place on 37 points while Chelsea remain in fourth on 43 points in the league table.
Meanwhile, Chelsea could drop out of the top four if the trio of Manchester City, Newcastle United and Bournemouth win this weekend.
