Brighton and Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen equaled a Premier League feat this season after helping his side defeat Chelsea on Friday night.
The Seagulls thrashed Chelsea 3-0 thaanks to goals from Kaoru Mitoma and a brace from Yankuba Minteh.
Verbruggen provided the assist for Mitoma’s opener as his long kick was expertly plucked from the air by Mitoma, dribbled Trevor Chalobah before slotting into the net.
Verbruggen is now the fifth different goalkeeper to assist a Premier League goal this season (after Ederson, Flekken, Pickford, and Leno); the most in a single campaign since 2010-11.
Brighton also accounted for Chelsea’s exit in the Emirates FA Cup last Saturday.
