VfB Stuttgart have signed goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow from FC Nurnberg on a three-year deal. The 24-year-old, who made 13 appearances for Nurnberg in the Bundesliga last season but couldn’t help them avoid relegation down to the second tier in Germany, says he jumped at chance to move to Stuttgart.
The former Germany Under-20 international told the club’s website: “When I heard about the interest from VfB, I was keen straight away. VfB are a great club with big ambitions and I’m really looking forward to this challenge.” Sporting director Sven Mislintat believes Bredlow is an ideal signing and backed him to develop further at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
He added: “Fabian achieved promotion to the Bundesliga with FC Nurnberg and proved his quality again last season. In addition, we believe he has further room for development. Fabian is coming to us with full conviction and wants to be successful with VfB.”
