Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in Group C with Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania in Group C at the AFCON 2025.
The draw was held in Rabat, Monday on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Super Eagles AFCON 2013 winning captain Joseph Yobo, Cote d’Ivoire’s two-time AFCON winner Serge Aurier, Morocco legend Mustapha Hadji and Senegal’s AFCON winning coach Aliou Cisse conducted the draw.
Tunisia ended the Super Eagles’ run at the AFCON 2021 thanks to a 1-0 win in the round of 16.
This would be the second time the Super Eagles and Uganda would clash at the AFCON.
Their first and only meeting was in the semi-finals of the 1978 edition in Ghana which Uganda won 2-1.

For Tanzania, this would also be the second time they will face the Eagles at the AFCON, after both teams first clashed in the group stage of the 1980 edition which Nigeria won 3-1.
Meanwhile, in Group A hosts Morocco will face Mali, Zambia and Comoros while Group B has Egypt, South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe.
Group D comprises Senegal, DR Congo, Benin Republic and Botswana, Group E has Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan.
Holders Cote d’Ivoire will battle five-time winners Cameroon, Gabon and Mozambique in Group F.
The tournament will commence on December 21, 2025 and end on January 18, 2026.
