Anthony Joshua has sent a big statement of intent after knocking down Francis Ngannou in the second round of a stirring victory during Friday’s heav[dropcap][/dropcap]yweight bout in Saudi Arabia.
The British boxer, who is gradually redeeming his image after losing his belts to Ukrainian boxer, Oleksandr Usyk in 2022, wasted no time to announce his readiness as he knocked down the former UFC fighter in the first round.

Joshua, a two-time heavyweight champion, then delivered the knockout punch at 2:38 of the second round, to send the Cameroonian star tumbling on the floor.
The knockout blow, a powerful right hand, left Ngannou out cold. Ngannou, the former UFC champion, was down on the canvas for more than a minute and received oxygen.
This victory now puts Joshua in a good position to challenge Tyson Fury all things being equal.
