The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group A and will face Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé and Principe or Mauritius in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Completesports.com reports.
The draw was conducted by Bafana Bafana African egends, former South Africa defender Lucas Radebe and ex Côte d’Ivoire forward Solomon Kalou.
The Eagles faced Sierra Leone during qualifiers for the 2021 AFCON with the first in Benin City ending 4-4 while the second leg in Freetown was a goalless affair.
At the last AFCON in Cameroon, the Eagles defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their last group game.
Also, they will take on either Sao Tome and Principe or Mauritius in Group A.
Mauritius protested their 4-3 aggregate defeat to Sao Tome and Principe, during the preliminary round and the outcome of a disciplinary hearing will decide which of the two teams will face the Eagles and the two other teams in Group A.
The qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON will commence in June with the first two teams expected to pick the ticket for the tournament.
Hosts, Cote d’ Ivoire, will also take part in the qualifiers, even though they have already secured their place in the tournament which means only one team from their group will qualify.

YEAH
WHAT A GROUP OF DEATH.
WITH THE LACKADAISICAL DISPLAY ALTITUDE OF NIGERIA PLAYERS ON THE FIELD OF PLAY AND UNSERIOUSNESS OF FOOTBALL MANAGEMENT(NFF) IN APPOINTING RIGHTFUL COACHES I DON’T THIS THINK WE CAN BEAT ANYONE IN THIS GROUP.
I HOPE NIGERIA STILL REMEMBER THE DEFAT AGAINST C.A.R. IN LAGOS.
Sierra Leone 0 vs falcon 0
Guinea bausa 0 vs falcon 0
Sao Tome 0 vs falcon 2
Total point 5points lol
I can’t say if eagles can get this.
Details later …..
Its just that no more minor in African football, if not I don’t see any threat pose by these countries against the SE…
Milky Mouse teams.
If Super Eagle fail to beat these teams home and away convincingly it means that Super Eagles are not ready for the nation’s cup.
Home and away ke. This is afcon 2023 fixtures. It wil take place in Cote de voir next June/July. For a month
April fool
It looks like the FOOD IS READY sign is up.
But don’t be fooled. With this our current set of lacklustre players and “bicycle kick” strikers, nothing is guaranteed.
Only a seasoned new coach can get us out of this funk. Otherwise, we may not make it out of this group.
Nigeria fans now living in fear.
S/Leone and G-Bissau will give us problems, given their Afcon showing.
Even Sao Tome is giving me the HIBBIE-JIBBIES.
I’m just glad we avoided COMOROS. After what they did to Ghana at the Afcon.
We can either chose to continue sinking with OUR OWN, or try to swim again with a quality coach.
Comoros is nothing! And tournaments are different from qualifiers!! The likes of Ghana and Nigeria are seasonal campaigners and can navigate these qualifiers with ease! In tournaments, Ghana and Nigeria doesn’t have the luxury of preparations like these minnows in Africa! Comoros mxm Against Comoros Ghana played with a man down for entire game! We still outplayed them with ten men! The men down cost us that match as there was no way Comoros ll beat Ghana with 11 players each
This is good for us…no shaking!!
Make them select home base players for the qualify so that una eye go clear. Una never fix the league and una wan use home base players. Ndi uchu
