Cohen Bramall says Unai Emery “binned me off” as the left-back prepares to end his time with Arsenal. English defender Bramall arrived at the Emirates from Hednesford Town in January 2017 after a short trial and was sent out on a season-long loan to Birmingham City for the 2017/18 campaign.
The 23-year-old, who started out at Kidsgrove Athletic, struggled during his time at St Andrew’s and only played 333 minutes of Championship during his temporary spell. Bramall was still hoping to make an impact on Arsenal’s senior ranks last season but wasn’t given a chance by Spanish tactician Emery, who failed to have one conversation with the left-back who will become a free agent on July 1.
Speaking to Goals, the defender said: “When Unai came in I was hoping to train with the first team but I didn’t really get that opportunity. I didn’t have a conversation with him once. “I’m guessing he was told I didn’t have the best of loans at Birmingham, so he just binned me off. When I did get to go over there and train, it was at the last minute. I didn’t get the chance to show Unai what I could do.”
