Cardiff Blues are understood to be on the verge of a agreeing a deal with Will Boyde following his release by Scarlets.
The 24-year-old has spent the last five seasons playing in Llanelli but he hasn’t been offered fresh terms and is free to leave at the end of the term.
Boyde is one of four players on his way out and he was presented with a memento on the field after his final home game against Zebre. Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac, who is also leaving, admitted he would have kept Boyde on but recently revealed the back-rower will be staying in Wales.

Pivac said: “Will has been a club man through and through who is from the region and I am sad to see him go. “I am pleased to know he will be staying in Wales and playing at professional level.” Reports claim talks have already taken place between Boyde and Blues and a deal should be finalised in the next few weeks.
