Box 2 Box Football Club caused a major upset at the ongoing Lagos State FA Cup as they came from a goal down to beat Nigerian Professional Football League side, MFM 2-1 in the fifth round of the competition at the Agege stadium on Sunday reports Completesports.com.
Lawal Abayomi scored the opener for MFM in the 40th minute to hand the NPFL side who had emerged winners of the Lagos State FA Cup in the last four years the lead into the break.
In the second half, Andrew Michael restored parity in the 51st minute.
Arokodare Tolu sealed the win for Box 2 Box with nine minutes left to play.
The win for Box 2 Box sets up a quarter-final clash against Saphirre FC at the Legacy Pitch on Monday by 2 pm.
MFM FC sits on third in Group A of the Abridge NPFL table with 24 points from 16 matches, winning seven games, recording three draws and having lost six games.
