Bournemouth are reported to be lining up a swoop for West Bromwich Albion defender Dara O’Shea during the close season. The 20-year-old has yet to make the breakthrough for the Baggies but has caught the eye on loan at League Two Exeter, and that could be enough to convince Eddie Howe to get him on board.

The Irishman has made 32 appearances for the Grecians this season and Bournemouth scouts have been checking him out on a regular basis with a view to making a move. Howe is not scared of bringing in players from the lower divisions and both David Brooks and Chris Mepham have been big hits since arriving from Sheffield United and Brentford respectively.
O’Shea would represent more of a gamble, having yet to shine in the Championship for Albion, but Howe clearly feels it would be a risk worth taking. Bournemouth are not the only interested party as Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are also said to be keen.
