Bournemouth’s bad luck with injuries has continued after learning David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly are set for long spells on the sidelines. The season hasn’t even started and the treatment room at the Vitality Stadium is already beginning to fill up with Dan Gosling ruled out for three months on Tuesday after undergoing hip surgery.
It is now being reported that Brooks could spend a similar amount of time out of action for the Cherries after rolling his ankle in Saturday’s friendly encounter with Brentford. Howe initial played down the significance of the injury but it now appears the Wales international will have to undergo surgery and will miss the start of the season.
Kelly, who joined from Bristol City for £13million earlier this summer, has also picked up an ankle problem and could be out for even longer than Brooks. The 20-year-old is understood to have seriously damaged his ankle ligaments and could struggle to make his Bournemouth debut before the turn of the year.
