Nigeria forward Victor Boniface admitted he is surprised by his immediate impact at new club Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface linked up with Die Werkself from Belgian Pro League outfit Union St, Gilloise this summer.
The 22-year-old has already caught the eye with his impressive displays for Bayer Leverkusen.
The striker has scored four goals and registered one assist in his opening four league outings for Xabi Alonso’s side.
Boniface also scooped the Bundesliga Player of the Month prize for August as well as Rookie of the Month award.

The former Bodo/Glimt player claimed he is surprised by how quickly he has settled down at his new club.
“I couldn’t have imagined it better,” the striker told Bundesliga.com.
“I didn’t know much about the competition and so I didn’t know what it would be like to go from Belgium to the Bundesliga. To win two awards in that first month…”
“I have to thank my teammates and everyone who supported me.
“I am a bit surprised that I adapted so quickly, but on the other hand, I have always believed in myself.”
Boniface made his international debut for Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe this month.
