Al Nassr have pulled out of a move to sign Bayer Leverkusen Nigeria international Victor Boniface.
Sky reporter and transfer expert Florian Plettenberg dislcosed this on Wednesday night.
Boniface had been left out of the squad in Leverkusen’s preparations for its 2-0 win over Sparta Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“Victor #Boniface to Al-Nassr, 100 % off,” Plettenberg wrote on X. “Deal has finally collapsed tonight, as Leverkusen boss Simon Rolfes confirmed just a few seconds ago.
“Despite all verbal agreements and the completed medical check, Al-Nassr have canceled the deal with #Boniface and Bayer 04. The delegation is returning to Saudi Arabia without Boniface.
“Al-Nassr have decided to sign Jhon #Duran from Aston Villa instead.”
Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso also confirmed that Boniface will remain with the Bundesliga champions.
“He will train again tomorrow. I believe he is staying with us,” Alonso said when asked about Boniface after the win over Sparta. “So I have to say that I am satisfied, I am happy.”
Alonso added that Boniface could play on Sunday against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
“He is comfortable here so I don’t believe that this is a big stress for him.”
Boniface has not played since November because of injury but had been on the bench for Leverkusen’s last two games before Wednesday.

Boniface has flopped for the Super Eagles. Hard working Nigerians who struggle to put food on the table or load data in their phones need players with quality to make following the national team worthwhile .
It is becoming harder to follow progress of players when electricity supply is erratic and the road is jam-packed with traffic. Only God can help us in this country. Soon nobody will even follow the Super Eagles anymore because of the corruption of the NFF.
They gave us an average coach who will assemble average players like this Boniface, Iheanacho, Umar, Chukwueze and Uzoho. What is the point?
