Victor Boniface was the hero for Bayer Leverkusen as his stoppage time goal earned the Bundesliga champions a dramatic 4-3 win against Wolfsburg on Sunday.
With the game heading for a 3-3 draw, Boniface who came on in the 68th minute, scored deep in stoppage time to seal the win.
The Super Eagles striker has scored three goals in four Bundesliga outings this campaign.
The 23-year-old has scored three goals in his last three league appearances for Xabi Alonso’s men.
Leverkusen have won three straight games on the bounce and seat in second position on nine points, just three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
An own goal by Nordi Mukiele gave Wolfsburg the lead in the 5th minute but Florian Wirtz made it 1-1 on 14 minutes.
Jonathan Tah scored to put Leverkusen 2-1 ahead in the 32nd minute but Sebastiaan Bornauw drew Wolfsburg level on 37 minutes.
In one minute of first half stoppage time Mattias Svanberg gave Wolfsburg a 3-2 lead.
Three minutes into the second half Piero Hincapie equalised for Leverkusen before Boniface bagged the winner in the 93rd minut.
