Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface secured a spot in the Bundesliga Team of the Week after helping Bayer Leverkusen defeat FC Cologne 3-0 at the weekend.
After firing blanks in two consecutive games, Boniface was on target in the home win against Cologne.
The 22-year-old scored Leverkusen’s third goal in the 67th minute.
The win place Leverkusen in first position on 19 points, one point ahead of Stuttgart on the log.

The former Union Saint-Gilloise star spearhead a three-man attack in a 3-4-3 formation.
Boniface is expected in the Super Eagles camp in Portugal ahead of their doubleheader friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
They will first take on Saudi Arabia on Friday, 13 October before facing Mozambique on Monday, 16 October, 2023.
He marked his debut for the Eagles with an assist in the 6-0 win against São Tomé and Principe last month in Uyo.

this is the strike partner that victor osimhen needs in the national team. a player who can hold on to the ball, make runs, bulldoze defenders, dribble, give good passes and shoot with both feet. with both osimhen, boniface upfront, the super eagles will score loads and loads of goals. cant wait to see their first start together against the saudis, the coach should just ensure he selects the best winger to play alongside them and the best midfield combo as well.
