Victor Boniface was on target as Bayer Leverkusen defeated visiting Augsburg 2-1 in their final league game on Saturday, and Bundesliga title celebration set the BayArena aglow, Completesports.com reports.
The win means Leverkusen are the first side in history to complete an entire Bundesliga season unbeaten.
Boniface opened the scoring on 12 minutes before Robert Andrich made it 2-0 on 27 minutes.

Augsburg pulled a goal back through Mert Komur on 62 minutes but Leverkusen held on to claim the historic win.
Boniface ended the Bundesliga season with 14 goals, eight assists in 23 games.
Nathan Tella, who was benched against Augsburg, had five goals, made two assists in 24 league games.
It was a celebration galore at the BayArena on Saturday, May 22 as Xabi Alonso’s team was presentee with the Bundesliga shield and champions medals.
Bayer Leverkusen, who previously finished in second position five times in their Bundesliga history, amassed 28 wins and six draws out of 34 matches to win the 2023/2024 season. They also scored 89 goals and conceded only 24.
And Die Werkself are now shifting focus to the DFB Pokal (German Cup) and Europa League finals, looking to achieve a treble without losing any game.
Alonso’s Leverkusen will play Atalanta in the Europa League final on May 22, followed by the DFB Pokal final against Kaiserslautern.
