Cardiff City have reportedly turned their attention to Genk striker Mbwana Samatta – the Belgian league’s top scorer. France Football claim the Bluebirds have offered £11.5million for the Genk goal-getter, who has netted 15 times in the Belgian top-flight.
The Bluebirds have apparently moved on from their unsuccessful pursuit of Nantes frontman Emiliano Sala, who reportedly rejected the chance to earn five times the amount he is on in France.
However, Cardiff still face a tough task to persuade Genk to part with Samatta, who is the captain of Tanzania.
The club have apparently rejected the bid and it is not known if Cardiff will try to come back with a better offer.
Middlesbrough were also in for the 26-year-old last summer and he has more recently been linked with Fenerbahce.
