Sheffield United are about to submit a bid of £15million to Brentford for striker Neal Maupay, according to reports. The Blades are keen to further strengthen their squad after winning an unexpected promotion from the Championship last season.

They have signed QPR playmaker Luke Freeman and Phil Jagielka has agreed to return to the club where he started his career. Reports last month suggested the Blades were interested in forward Maupay and they are now prepared to make an offer for the Brentford man, who netted 28 goals for the Bees last term.
They would have to smash their transfer record to sign the 22-year-old by paying around £15million. Freeman was their previous club-record purchase, costing approximately £5million this week. Chris Wilder is keen to strengthen up top, with Scott Hogan and Gary Madine returning to Aston Villa and Cardiff respectively after loan spells.
