Sheffield United will reportedly try and re-sign attacking midfielder Kieran Dowell from Everton following his loan spell. The England Under-21 international joined the Blades from the Toffees in January to boost their attacking options for the second half of the season.
It was a successful move as the 21-year-old played 17 times and helped them secure promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 12 years. Now, with his chances of breaking into the first team at Everton looking increasingly unlikely, Sheffield United are reportedly keen to bring him back on a permanent basis.
Aston Villa had a £6million bid turned down for his services in January before the loan move went ahead, so the Blades would be looking at a higher fee than that to get their man. Any move to sign Dowell, who scored twice in his Blades spell last term, is likely to have to wait until the end of England’s campaign at the European Under-21 Championship.
