Thomas Bjorn is looking forward to returning to Portugal after it was confirmed he will play in October’s Portugal Masters. The Dane, who masterminded Europe’s sensational Ryder Cup victory over the USA at Le Golf National in 2018, will return to the event for the first time in four years as the tournament returns to Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course from October 24-27.
Portugal has been a happy hunting ground for the 48-year-old, who won the 2010 Estoril Open de Portugal. That was his 10th European Tour victory and five more have followed, and Bjorn cannot wait to tee it up. “I have always enjoyed playing in Portugal,” he told the European Tour’s website.
“I have fond memories of the country as I reached the milestone of ten victories there nearly ten years ago. “A number of my fellow players have a lot of great things to say about this tournament, so I’m looking forward to coming back in October.”
