West Ham’s Sam Byram could be offered a way out as Slaven Bilic is reportedly keen to bring him to West Brom. The defender joined the Hammers from Leeds in January 2016 but injuries have prevented him from being a significant player for the club.
With Pablo Zabaleta and Ryan Fredericks contracted for next term, and youngster Ben Johnson pushing for a place, opportunities at the London Stadium are expected to be limited for the 25-year-old. Byram spent last season on loan in the Championship at Nottingham Forest and the Tricky Trees are keen to sign him on a permanent deal – despite making just eight appearances due to fitness setbacks.
However, their plans could be complicated by the recent appointment of Bilic at The Hawthorns. The Croatian is likely to lose some of his key players after the Baggies’ failure to win promotion last term, while the returning Allan Nyom is being tipped to return to Spain after last season’s loan at Leganes. Byram would provide an affordable option and, having signed him for the Hammers, Bilic is reportedly keen on renewing their relationship.
