Marcelo Bielsa has emerged as a new favourite for the Roma job after Antonio Conte decided to take over at Inter Milan instead.
Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has declared Bielsa – currently the head coach of Leeds United – to be the latest contender for the Stadio Olimpico hotseat,
which is set to be vacated by caretaker Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season.
Ex-Juventus and Chelsea boss Conte was approached but turned down the Giallorossi and looks set to be in the Nerazzurri dugout next season.
Bielsa led Leeds to a third-place finish in the Championship but saw his side crash out of the play-offs to Derby County last week.

Following Wednesday’s 4-2 second-leg defeat, Bielsa stated he was ready to consider an offer to extend his stay at Elland Road, but gave no guarantees over his future.
A switch to Roma would be remarkable because Bielsa had signed a contract with the club’s arch-rivals Lazio in the summer of 2016.
However, he failed to turn up to pre-season training and quit two days later, insisting the board had reneged on promises regarding transfer targets.
