It was all fun and excitement as the 2019 COPA Lagos came to a scintillating close over the weekend. The annual event, broadcasted to the world on satellite television, attracted football fans at home and abroad, making the event one of the major annual international sport tournament from the shores of Nigeria.
The tournament featured nations like Senegal, England, Brazil, and host Nigeria, with a colorful spice by some of Nigeria’s celebrated music icons. Senegal emerged as champions of this year’s edition of the tournament and in doing so successfully defended the title they won in 2018.
The champions defeated Brazil 5 – 4 in their first match and beat Nigeria by 5 – 2 in their second encounter, They also defeated England by 3 – 2 in their last match. Nigeria defeated the reigning world champions, Brazil, by 6 – 5 to place second in the tournament.
Speaking to All Sports Predictions at the event, Mr. Kunle Ogidi, Marketing Manager, Betking said, the brand is taking a step in the positive direction with the sponsorship of the COPA Lagos event.

Mr. Ogidi also commented on the plans of Betking concerning the competition. He admitted that punters are not able to access the competition on the Betking platform to make money from because of lack of data to help support the algorithm that will help determine the odds and all the associated markets. He hopes that next year and subsequently, the event will be placed on the Betking platform for punters to enjoy watching the games and also bet and make some money from the tournament.”
The COPA Lagos tournament will make a return next year with organizers determined to improve the tournament for the benefit of football loving fans.
