Former Nigeria international Kennedy Boboye is nearing a return to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) outfit, Akwa United.
The Uyo club have been looking for a new coach following Mohammed Babaganaru’s resignation from the post.
Boboye left his post as head coach of Sunshine Stars in October citing interference from the club’s management as reason for his action.
The 50-year-old is now on the verge of taking charge of Akwa United for the second time in his managerial career.
The experienced tactician was first appointed Akwa United head coach in 2019.
He helped the Promise Keepers win their first-ever NPFL title during his first reign with the club.
Akwa United will be in action against Heartland on Monday.
