Beach Eagles and Katsina United striker, Eric Dufegha and his teammate, Sunday Dominic have expressed delight that the club retained their NPFL status after a turbulent 2018/2019 abridged season, Completesports.com reports.
Katsina United successfully fought off relegation following, including a decisive 1-0 defeat of Enyimba on the final match day of the season.
Dufegha and Dominic pay tribute to coach Abdullahi Biffo for his role in the team’s success, describing it as “a big achievement”.
Dufegha, who is also a Nigeria International with the Beach Eagles, gives an insight into the success story of Katsina United in the outgone abridged NPFL season .
“Unity , prayers and the tactical impact of coach Biffo remain the key to the club’s success,” Dufegha stated.
“We are grateful to God that Katsina United was not relegated.”
Similarly, Sunday Dominic, who plays in the midfield, adds that coach Biffo was the main reason the club was able to navigate their way through the difficult season.
“Despite his ordeal after he was kidnapped, coach Biffo was able to quickly put the trauma behind and ensured that Katsina United was not relegated in our time,” Dominic said.
“As players, we equally talked to ourselves and the result is that Katsina United retained their NPFL status.
“We’re grateful to Shaqx Abdul for guiding us through our career. Shaqx is a God sent Angel to us and we can’t thank him enough.”
