Bayern Munich are sweating on the fitness of Arjen Robben after he sustained a calf injury on his return to training.
The 35-year-old former Netherlands international winger has not played for Bayern since grabbing two goals in the 5-1 Champions League win against Benfica at the end of November.

However, Robben was back on the training pitch on Tuesday with one eye on being fit to play some part in next Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Liverpool at the Allianz Arena, with the tie finely poised at 0-0 from the Anfield clash.
Leon Goretzka and Franck Ribery also returned from respective injury problems but the session lasted about an hour for Robben, who was seen leaving early clutching his calf.
He will be assessed by the club’s medical staff to see how severe this latest issue is in the hope that he will still be on course to face Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League Reds in a week’s time.
