Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness says they are unlikely to do a deal for Leroy Sane because of the insane figures that Manchester City are asking for. The Bavarians have made the Germany international a top target as they look to add more attacking quality to their ranks this summer, but the kind of money that Manchester City want looks set to scupper the deal.

The Manchester side are keen to keep hold, but even if they did cash in, they would be looking for a fee of £100million, and that is way too much, even for a club the size of Bayern. “You have to be a bit sceptical. It is unlikely that it will work,” Hoeness told Kicker. “It’s about sums, they’re insane.”

Speaking recently, Uli Hoeness suggested Bayern have a limit to what they will spend on a transfer fee, and it would put them out of the running to sign Sane. “We’re not playing Monopoly here,” he said. “We are a football club. We have reached a limit with €80million, and I don’t think that we’ll exceed that in future transfers.”
