Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella is keen to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 24-year-old was born in England to Nigerian parents.
Tella is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria.
The versatile midfielder has however disclosed he would prefer to play for the Super Eagles.
“I’ve always said for the last three or four years that Nigeria is a big part of my life – even though I’ve been an ‘England boy’ from London all my life,”the player was quoted by German publication bild.

“If I got the chance to play for Nigeria, I would be more than happy and accept it. I’ve already told my parents and friends that I would do that.”
Tella acknowledged he would need to work hard to be recognised by the selectors.
“You’re not just nominated like that, You have to work for it and earn it. I want to prove myself here if I get the chance to play. I want to develop further, help the team and the club – if a call comes for an international call-up, that would be a bonus,” Tella added.
Tella joined Bayer Leverkusen from Southampton for a club record €20m fee.
He spent last season on loan at Premier League club Burnley.

Another one we should cap ASAP…..England go just cap an one time just to be a spoiler.
England has standards.Tella won’t be called up until he starts having fantastic stats for his German club.
Lol…which standard….a team that all the time calls up Maguire but ignores Tomori…so many like that. Abeg, you guys need to chill with worshipping those people.
He will surely get a Nigerian call soon.. maybe now could be too early for him but he is so close.. he needs to force his way into the first eleven of his German club with some goals and assist and that could be enough to earn a Nigerian cap.
I won’t be surprised to see tella in the upcoming Afcon.. he is damn so close..
This gizza is a fantastic winger. From Southampton to Burnley and now Leverkussen. He’s a modern day winger. Nigeria better cap this young hungry player before the three lions or better still foxes come play spoiler.
Good for that nonchalant work work person
This is the sort of player we want in the Super Eagles. Nathan Tella na baller a beg.
Even then, I still believe Victor should not sign extension. God has a way of doing things. This people have shown their evil hands making Osimhen see what is in stock for him if he signs an extension with Napoli. God is telling Victor, ”my son, I am using Napoli as a footstep for you to greater things. Finish your current contract and move on”…. There is not going to be a better time than now for you to move on. You have many options out there.
I won’t compare him to the wingers we currently have. But based on his ability and form, it’s hard to explain his continued exclusion from the SE. He might not walk into the starting eleven, but he should be in there competing for a starting jersey.
Especially now that we have 2 friendlies coming up. Friendlies are the perfect opportunity to observe players.
we have enough wingers what we need are midfielders, defenders and goalies but that being said, if some of our wingers dont perform up to par then we can bring him in but i dont see him benching the likes of chukwueze, lookman, moses simon anytime soon as these three are either currently in form or are playing regularly for big teams in europe.
@Sportsfan this is how you people start to wish bad on Super Eagles what sort of comment is that We have enough Wingers?.. We never have enough my brother, Never. they must keep coming if Defenders and goalies start coming then so be it but now you want to wish that we stop producing top quality forward players?. So when that happens then what?. you will start wishing we start producing top quality forward players. Guy when it comes to football I keep saying that alot top quality players is never enough be it forwards, Midfielders, Defender or Goalkeeping department. They must keep coming.
Nathan Tella is a good player, we really need him.
He has just made a case for himself with a goal at today’s Europa League. Let the coach invite him
The boy certainly has talent. I just hope we do not blow this up like eze. Once this boy starts scoring regularly and becomes a main stay in the team, Southgate will come calling whilst we continue fooling around with moses simon and musa. You guys will recall how rohr kept playing etebo and over the cliff onazi when eze was available.
