Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed Victor Boniface is set to leave the Bundesliga champions for Saudi Arabia Professional League club Al Nassr.
Die Werkself and Al Nassr are already in talks for the striker, according to reports.
The Nigeria international is also said to be willing to join the Sun Club.
“There is this situation and I understand that. There are discussions with the club,” Alonso said ahead of Leverkusen’s UEFA Champions League clash with Sparta Prague on Wednesday.
“We have to wait. We’re preparing for the game without Boni of course”.
The 23-year-old recently extended his contract with Leverkusen to 2029.
Leverkusen are reportedly demanding €50m to sell the powerful forward.

This boy is never serious. Well he can make good comedies for the Arabs. Unserious boy
Who Does That.. At The Pinnacle Of A Football Player He should Be Thinking About A Bigger Career In Europe,A Standard Set By Previous Legends Of Nigerian Football..No Ambitions To Become Renowned.Instead He Chose Lesser..Very Very Unserious.End Of Super Eagles Career In Which He Even Failed His Auditions
84M earning per day? Boniface does that! So you want him to reject a lifetime opportunity for merry european laurels? Someone that knows he is passing his game peak. You can’t compare him Osihmen because if no be football, Age wise Osihmen suppose to dey prostrate greet Boniface LOL. In my opinion he made the right choice for himself.
Putting into consideration:
✅ He was born in Nigeria
✅ He claims to be 23 years old
✅ He is more injury prone than ever (like his brother ndidi)
✅ He goes to a league where players seek retirement money
That means one thing, real, not football age is catching up with him and what better way to earn the bucks than Saudi and at a club where Ronaldo is the main deal which suits the 23 years old
Rookie of the season one season, Saudi league the next.
Well he has help the coach in dropping him from the super eagles and nobody will really compalin
Deal has been sealed money in the bank. More room for unseriousness as he heads to retirement league to partner aging CR7 and Mane.
Indeed, it takes more than talent to become outstanding.
Osimhen is talented. But, more importantly, the boy has grit. He has hunger, determination, and big ambitions. It shows how he troubles defenders and even gets into fights for his team on the field of play.
The Saudis offered him surplus money. He rejected the offer and signed a short-term loan deal in Turkey. He could have left this January but chose to stay out of loyalty.
Boniface is talented but “kill” himself for the SE? Not his cup of tea! He will only score when the opportunity presents itself on a gold platter; since it hasn’t, everyone can chill.
If you give him on social media, he gives you back wotowoto. So, mouth-watering Saudi money calling? Forget ambition. Forget SE. Saudi oil money, here we come!
It doesn’t matter that Mane has gone into oblivion in the league. Henderson has to retrace his steps back to Europe, and Neymar has offered to give up his $65m salary to return to Santos.
Sad we have a plethora of strikers, and we still can’t find a decent deputy to Osimhen, except perhaps Terem Moffi.
Didnt he just extend his contract wit the club?
He knew he was crap for the national team, so he ran away to a weak league, no one actually cares, because you were never a serious player. Justin be careful in Saudi, they don’t care if you are a star
This a disastrous move for his career. Boniface is placing money above development. What he doesn’t understand is that if he continues to develop his football in standard leagues, the money will eventually come. It just shows where his heart is.
It’s just a matter of time, he will regret it.
Much as we may be disappointed with Victor Boniface transfer decision, we cannot continue throwing stones at him when we have not worn his shoes. Boniface has already had two career threatening injuries (ACLs) in his career so far, in addition to other serious injuries like the one he just recovered from. While always important to remain positive no one can predict what the future holds. I believe he may have considered this and many other things before arriving at that decision. If things turn out well for him physical wise, he’s still young enough to get back to Europe later after a couple of years in Saudi, although he may have missed the chance to get to the very top of his career playing in the top leagues of Europe. If things don’t turn out that well (injuries wise, God forbid), he may have as well secured his future. Football is a short and unpredictable career. Let’s continue to pray for Victor and support him.
And by the way, Saudi League is on the ascendancy, and doing so very fast too. Considering that at 21 years of age, a certain Jhon Duran of Aston Villa is also trying to secure the same sport that Victor Boniface is going for in Saudi, we may need to have a rethink about Saudi League. If things continues the way it’s going, we may be seeing Saudi League in a different light in a couple of years from now. The world is changing in many ways, and everything is not about Western Europe.
Alerks while I respect your views and appreciate your side of the story but Boniface just showed why he should have been a comedian instead of being a footballer.
I see him retiring as a comedian soon.
The reality today in the football world everything is about Europe.
Who says he can’t make money in Europe. Agreed he would make more money in Saudi st this moment but a lot of things come with staying in Europe and hoping for the best.
I am surprised he once said he should be considered for APOTY. Funny!!! Even Oshimen and Ademola Lookman are not even thinking of Saudi now..
The fame in Europe can work out good for him at the end. Who says after making the money in Saudi he won’t end up misusing it just like some Nigerian footballers.
Who says the injuries won’t come back in Saudi. I even don’t see him doing something big in Saudi..
Then the super eagles – is it the end of the road? So he has no plan as an international. I am not surprised he never did anything good with the super eagles..
Well just as you said we wish Mr comedian all the best
For a player who was expected APOTY two months ago now chose to be playing in Saudi Arabia for the love of the money shows his mentality and it’s no fluke he didn’t take national team serious .He was given over 10 chances to redeem himself with the Super Eagles but he failed no wonder . These are the kind of players we keep inviting to our national teams and we expect them to play with grit , determination and power. No they can’t offer such. I believe the future of Super Eagles is with foreign born players who love football with passion and not majority of these inbred Players that got into football to cheat about their ages and also to evade poverty, the moment the money they are after comes the passion they have for the game dissolve. This is why we need to appreciate Osimhein well he is a gift to the Super Eagles.
For the new coach to be successful he should immediately flush out players like Kelechi, Umar, Taminu , Awoniyi , Ndidi, Aribo and get players that are fit , passionate, and courageous . Tino Anjorin plays in Italian team for Empoli as a midfielder, Kayode just moved from Seria A to Brentford in the premiership as a fantastic left back. Total overhauling of the team to strengthen every department. There is also a lad in Everton that wanted to play for eagles and also another player called Mayor in Newcastle both are midfielders . Something tells me that the new coach humble background will make him succeed and if he can wins the two matches in March then Nigeria will be difficult to beat.
