Watford are believed to be monitoring Bastos’ situation at Lazio ahead of a potential transfer offer. The Angolan joined I Biancocelesti from Rostov in the summer of 2016 and has proved a useful member of Simone Inzaghi’s squad, making 28 appearances last season.

However, with Denis Vavro recently arriving from FC Copenhagen, Bastos’ opportunities could be limited in the upcoming campaign. A move to Vicarage Road could work well for all parties, especially as the Hornets have already seen Miguel Britos leave and are believed to be looking to sell Sebastian Prodl.
The 27-year-old has another couple of years left on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and would reportedly cost around 4m euros. Watford have already signed Craig Dawson from West Brom this summer but acquiring another defender would not go amiss as Javi Gracia prepares for the upcoming campaign.
