Calvin Bassey was on target as Fulham defeated Nottingham Forest 2-1 at Craven Cottage in Saturday’s Premier League.
It was Bassey’s first goal this season and the last time he got on the score sheet was in the 2-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford on February 24, 2024.
Also in action in the encounter were Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina.
Bassey scored in the 62nd minute to put Fulham 2-1 ahead after Chris Wood had equalised for Forest.
Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring for Fulham 15 minutes into the tie.
Fulham move up to eight place on 39 points while Forest remain in third spot on 47 points in the league table.
At St. Mary’s, Paul Onuachu bagged an assist in struggling Southampton’s 3-1 loss to Bournemouth.
Onuachu set up Kamaldeen Sulemana to make it 2-1 in the 72nd minute.
While Onuachu saw action for 90 minutes, Joe Aribo was taken off with five minutes left to play.
The defeat leaves Southampton rooted bottom on nine points in the league standing.
In other results Brentford pipped West Ham United 1-0, Manchester City hammered Newcastle United 4-0 Omar Marmoush getting a hat-trick and 10-man Ipswich Town held Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw.
