Super Eagles and Rangers defender, Calvin Bassey, has been linked to transfer moves of two powerhouse European clubs, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Bassey has been the talk of the town following his outstanding performances for The Gers in the Europa League final and the Scottish Cup final.
According to Fichajes, the bulky defender is on the radar of various top clubs.
Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich are said to be keen on signing Bassey, with Niklas Sule set to join Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea on the other hand are seen as the favourites to land the youngster.
Three of Chelsea’s defenders are set to depart at the end of the season, and Marcos Alonso could be the fourth if he moves to Barcelona.
The Blues are also looking at signing Alessio Romagnoli from AC Milan and Bassey could also be a backup for Ben Chilwell at left-back.
Bassey has played at left-back and centre-back for Rangers this season.
The 22 year old is also known for his offensive runs, chipping in assists in the process. The 6’1 defender is a physical presence in the box.
Bassey joined Leicester City’s academy at 15 before moving to Rangers in 2020.
He has made 50 appearances for Rangers this season with six assists.

A very strong central defender who can slot into left back is rare in world football and Bassey fits the bill so also did Alaba……I don’t doubt this report a bit because bassey has grown into a world class defender…….The whole of Europe just needed that Europa league final to confirm their observation.
This youngster in a new bride in town. Here again, Nigeria is very lucky to have him. The sky is the limit for him.
i thank oga Rohr for convincing and capping Bassey if not we could have lost him now he is hot cake
If Rohr was still the coach we would have lost Bassey as he brought him and capped him for 45 mins half a game, and never looked his way since and neglected him… Eguavoen is to be thanked more so even though as I said Bassey deserved to be in the Nations Cup makes you wonder doesn’t it how a player of this cabilre was not invited to help our cause in AFCON, not only would have had better cohiesion with his team mates by the Ghana Games he is also immense.. Going back let me remind you that FIFA rules stipulates that unless a player of dual nationality has 3 international caps for a country he is still eligable to play for both. so no Rohr is not to be thanked but Eguavoen as bassey 2 caps against Ghana tied him to Nigeria.
@dominic Hope you understand better how it works.
Nigeria’s got a great defender for the next decade or more.
Well said brotherman. Nigeria will be solid at the back. Nigeria can win the African Cup of Nations.
The guy is good and young. He will solve our aging central defense problem
I will prefer he goes to Bayern Munich
He. Should go to Bayern Munich. Where he can win cups and be relevant in his defensive skills . He can also go to more champions League and hopefully win it.
Am waiting for bassey, semi ajayi, olaina or saidu, then Nda or awaziem combo.
I think oyinbo wall have tried their best and time to move away from that.
No doubt at all, since the first match against Dortmund, i had seen a kind of player i have seen before, even before then, there were signs, but after that match, i just couldn’t deny it any more that we have a player in our hands. He seems like a very good midfielder slotting in at the defence easily, feels like a dream to have a player of this calibre, i hope he continues this way, in an even bigger league
He should stay in rangers for one more season and develop more into a beast of a defender.. Going elsewhere might mean he has to stay on the bench when he is a first team player in his current club.. Same goes to oshimen, why leave napoli who will play champions league and a regular playing 90 mins each game to play in another club where he might need to settle down..
