Nigerian professional basketball player, Chima Moneke, has addressed recent transfer rumours, denying that he negotiated with other clubs during the summer.
Moneke, who plays for Spanish Liga ACB club, Baskonia, expressed his displeasure over reports suggesting he was in talks with clubs such as Partizan and Barcelona, which were said to be interested in him.

“I was on vacation when I started receiving false news about myself. What disappointed me the most was when people began sharing personal details about me that were not true. It really angered me,” Moneke was quoted as saying by Basketball Sphere.
“I knew I hadn’t gone anywhere and that I would be returning. I was never close to leaving Baskonia, nor did I have direct talks with any other team.”
Next season, Chima Moneke will be working under Pablo Laso, who joined the Vitoria team after a season with Bayern.
“I like him; I like everything about him. We haven’t played a game yet, but from our communication, you can see what kind of person he is,” Moneke stated.
