USA professional basketball player LeBron James has envisioned his future beyond his illustrious career, expressing a desire to be remembered for a meaningful legacy off the court.
The Los Angeles Lakers star has enjoyed a remarkable basketball career, winning four NBA titles from ten NBA appearances and four Olympic gold medals as a member of the US national men’s basketball team.

In an interview on “The Shop” podcast, he shared his perspective on how he wants to be remembered.
“From time to time, I do think about how I want to be remembered, and I hope that it’s not just for the game of basketball. You know, I feel like if it’s just for the game of basketball, then I think I’ve kind of failed my mission,” James noted.
“So, you know, the things that I do in my community, the way Savannah and I raise our kids, my relationship with my single-parent mother, my friendships, and being able to help people from my hometown are what truly matter to me.”
He emphasised his commitment to intensifying his campaign against racial injustice, saying he will continue to use his platform to open schools in Akron, Ohio, and mentor athletes.
“If those conversations don’t reach the barbershop, or don’t find their way into forums or other spaces, then I feel like my mission wasn’t completed,” James said.
