Team USA men’s basketball power forward, Anthony Davis, has blamed their below-par performance against South Sudan in a pre-Olympic match on traffic jam troubles, saying it delayed their early arrival and disrupted their pre-game routines.
USA narrowly secured a win against the East Africans with a 1-point margin, 101-100, on Saturday, July 20, thanks to LeBron James, who scored the game-winning basket with 8 seconds remaining on the clock.

Davis, as reported by AP, told newsmen after the game that Team USA got caught in London traffic and arrived late to the game, disturbing and throwing off the players’ routines.
LeBron James led the way for Team USA with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.
South Sudan’s Carlik Jones captured a triple-double, a rare achievement in FIBA basketball, scoring 15 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out 11 assists. Marial Shayok had a game-leading 24 points.
Team USA will play against Germany on Monday, July 22, to end the preparatory cycle before the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
