Monaco defender Antonio Barreca is reportedly being eyed by Premier League strugglers Newcastle United.
The principality outfit snapped up the left-back from Torino last summer but he has made only seven Ligue 1 appearances to date.

The former Italy Under-21 ace has spent time in the reserves and is only on the peripheries of the first team under Thierry Henry.
Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is said to be keen on acquiring another left-sided defender in the winter window and Sky in Italy are suggesting that Barreca is the man they want.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Stanley N’Soki has also been mentioned in connection with the Tynesiders and it remains to be seen if they can get a deal done for either player.
Barreca has been involved in the French Cup and Champions League but it does not seem as though he is in Henry’s plans for Monaco’s survival bid.
