Barcelona thrashed rivals Real Madrid 5-2 on Sunday to become the new Spanish Super Cup champions.
It is now a record-extending 15th Super Cup title for Barcelona.
Barcelona played most parts of the second half with 10 men after former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off.
It is revenge for the Catalans who lost 4-1 to Madrid in last year’s final.
Kylian Mbappe gave Madrid the lead just five minutes into the game.
However, it became a one way traffic as Barcelona put five past their eternal rivals.
First Lamine Yamal equalised for Barcelona on 22 minutes while Raphinha made it 3-1 in the 39th minute.
In the 10th minute of first half stoppage time Alejandro Balde added the fourth goal for Barcelona before Raphinha got his second and Barcelona’s fifth three minutes into the second half.
In the 56th minute Szczesny was shown a straight red card.
Just four minutes after the sending off Rodrygo scored for Madrid to bring the scoreline to 5-2.
All efforts to get on the score sheet again proved futile as the Barcelona backline held on to secure the big win.
It is the second time Hansi Flick’s side have now beaten Madrid this season after hammering the La Liga champions 4-0 at the Bernabeu.
